Role Overview
As a Cybersecurity Analyst (Fresher), you will act as the first line of defense against cyber threats. You will monitor systems, detect vulnerabilities, and assist in securing applications, servers, and networks.
You’ll work directly with real-world systems, gaining hands-on exposure to:
- Website security
- Cloud systems
- Internal company tools
Cybersecurity analysts typically monitor systems, investigate incidents, and implement protections to secure organizational data and networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor systems, servers, and network traffic for suspicious activity
- Analyze security alerts and respond to potential threats
- Perform vulnerability scanning and basic penetration testing
- Assist in implementing firewalls, encryption, and security tools
- Investigate security incidents and prepare reports
- Maintain logs and documentation of security events
- Support compliance and security policy implementation
- Stay updated with latest cyber threats and hacking techniques
Freshers typically start with monitoring logs, assisting in scans, and supporting senior analysts.
Required Skills
Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
- Understanding of Cybersecurity fundamentals (OWASP Top 10)
- Familiarity with Linux / Windows systems
- Basic knowledge of tools like:
- Wireshark / Nmap
- Burp Suite (basic)
- SIEM tools (optional)
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving mindset
- Good communication skills
Cybersecurity roles require both technical and analytical skills to detect and respond to threats effectively.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.Tech / BCA / BSc IT / MCA / Any IT-related degree
- 2025 / 2026 pass-out
- Certifications (optional but preferred):
- CEH
- CompTIA Security+
- Google Cybersecurity
